Panky The Panda
"This is going to be a platformer game where you will traverse a bunch of underground rooms looking for keys and other items to help you proceed to new areas. Think scaled-down metroid-type gameplay. The goal (obviously!) will be to find your brother who is being held captive by Chinese poachers who are going to cut off his you-know-what and sell it on the black market."
By the end of the year, Panky the Panda had turned into a well rounded platform game...albeit, not a lot to do but move a panda around a screen, but controls were tight and screens were well thought out.
In 2010, Ben added a title screen, an ending sequence, and theme music while finishing up the enemies. Eventually due to the constraints of the 2600, the subtitle was removed, much to some people's relief.
Soon after, the topic died down but Panky The Panda still showed up at a few retrogaming events at the AtariAge booth. It's unclear as to why this game has yet to grace a cartridge release.
